With this latest release, we have introduced a new feature to the Business Rules Engine - the ability to configure your enrichment output based on certification expiry dates - alongside a number of minor improvements and bug fixes on existing features.
New Feature: Business Rules Engine (BRE) Certificate Expiry Date Configuration
Different companies have various rules regarding the expiry grace period for diversity certificates. Some accept only unexpired certifications, while others may accept certifications expired within the last 3 months or more. Additionally, some companies accept certifications without an expiry date, while others do not.
You can now manage your organization’s certification expiry rules directly from the Business Rules Engine (BRE) within the SDP User Console.
Key Points:
Baseline Date: The expiration of certificates is referenced from the date you submit the vendor master pipeline.
Example: If you submit a vendor master on June 15th, 2024, any certificates from June 14th, 2024, or earlier are considered expired. Certificates from June 15th, 2024, onward are considered not expired.
Current BRE Configuration: The enriched data you receive, whether from the Matched Suppliers CSV export or the retrieveMatchedSuppliers API query, is based on your organization’s current BRE configuration.
Example: If your BRE configuration is set to ‘Expired Less Than 90 Days’ and does not accept certificates without an expiry date, the enriched results for a pipeline submitted on June 15th will only include certificates that meet these rules.
If you later change your configuration to ‘Expired Less Than 180 Days’ and accept certificates without an expiry date, retrieving the enriched results for the same pipeline submitted on June 15th will now include certificates that meet the new rules.
Summary: The results from the same vendor master pipeline will vary based on the current business rules configuration for your organization.
